When using the word "Counselling Directory", www.counselling-directory.org.uk, "Counselling-Directory.org.uk", or "we" it is used to describe and refer to the private limited company trading as Memiah LTD.

Using Counselling Directory and accessing any information from the directory means you agree to the terms and conditions of use. The terms and conditions may be changed without prior notice at any time so please keep yourself updated for any changes. If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions, do not use this Website. If you do use Counselling Directory, your conduct indicates that you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.

Counselling Directory is not an agent for the counsellors or organisations, whose services are displayed, mentioned or referred to in Counselling Directory. It does not control and is not responsible for the prices of such services, availability, competency, suitability or professionalism.

Counselling Directory is a directory of counsellors and holds no judgment on any individual person or organisation listed in the directory; we publish the individual/organisations profile listing and are not responsible for the competency nor professionalism of the service provided. The information published on a specific organisation or individual is as per the information provided by that individual or organisation and we are not liable for any false information given such as contact details, qualifications or membership details. We do our utmost to ensure the individual counsellors on our site are qualified and/or registered with a recognised body when submitting their profiles, however we strongly recommend that you verify this as we will not be held responsible for any false information provided, referred to and displayed on www.counselling-directory.org.uk.

In the event that Counselling Directory receives a complaint against a practitioner listed, Counselling Directory is not responsible for that individual or organisation. Counselling Directory is just a directory and has no responsibility to the individual making the complaint - although Counselling Directory does have the right to remove any practitioner listed and cancel their membership at any time. Counselling Directory is not responsible for any member listed in the directory and an entry does not mean that Counselling Directory endorses or accredits the qualifications and/or skills of counsellors appearing in it.

Counselling Directory make every effort possible to make information on Counselling Directory as accurate as possible, however cannot and will not be held responsible for changes such as name, address, phone number, qualifications and memberships with recognised bodies - this is up to respective owners of the advert to inform Counselling Directory of any changes, and up to users of www.counselling-directory.org.uk to verify with counsellors that the information is correct. You understand and agree that Counselling-Directory.org.uk does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information in or provided in connection with Counselling-Directory.org.uk.

Text and graphics contained in Counselling Directory are property of Counselling-Directory.org.uk with the exception of individual and organisation names and details and links including those with logos listed in the directory which are property of the respective owners who have read and understood the terms & conditions as well.

No materials from Counselling Directory may be copied, downloaded, reproduced, broadcast, shown or played in public, republished, uploaded, posted, stored, transmitted or distributed in any way or adapted or changed in any way unless with permission or consent from Counselling Directory and its directors. Counselling Directory makes no representation or warranties of any kind with regard to this website or the contents and disclaims all such representations and warranties. Counselling Directory does not represent or warrant (despite best efforts to maintain data) that the information on this website is accurate, complete or current. Counselling Directory is a customer driven website and holds no judgment on the services listed on Counselling Directory. Customers are invited to offer feedback on genuine services and experiences they have had with counsellors or organisations listed in Counselling Directory. We may then make further contact with the counsellor or organisation or the person of whom is making the comment to obtain more details of the incident in question. Once further enquiries have been made into complaints we receive we reserve the right to remove a counsellor or organisation from the directory.

Employees of Counselling Directory are responsible for writing any emails and their content. We welcome any suggestions for content from counsellors and users alike however the final decision of content remains at the discretion of employees of Counselling Directory.

Counsellors or organisations listed in Counselling Directory are invited to tell us of any promotions or special offers they may have and although we will make every effort to include such offers or promotions we cannot guarantee inclusion. We reserve the right not to include any suggestions that we think unsuitable for submission.

Counsellors, individuals and any other person or body listed, implied to or referred to in Counselling Directory must seek individual permission to any director of Counselling Directory in writing if they wish to be removed, excluded or no longer implied to or referred to or listed on Counselling Directory.

Links to other websites, and content of, belonging to counsellors, organisations and also other bodies and associations remain the property of respective owners. Counselling Directory is not responsible for the content produced by counsellors on Counselling Directory; this too is the property of respective owners.

Disclaimer

All entries that appear in Counselling Directory are for informational purposes only. You accept full responsibility for all communications with any counsellor/psychotherapist contacted via the website. Counselling Directory shall in no event be liable to you or to anyone for any decision made or action taken by you in the reliance on information provided on Counselling Directory. Each individual and organisation with a Counselling Directory Policy Approved seal on their profile provided us with proof of a relevant qualification and insurance cover OR proof of membership with a professional body when they were initially listed on Counselling Directory. However it is strongly recommended that you verify all qualifications, insurance cover and membership details of the individual or organisation as we only ask for details on submission and DO NOT monitor changes (see Counselling Directory Policy).

Once members are registered with Counselling Directory they may update their profile at any time, publish articles on the website, add themselves to our list of supervisors or online counsellors and advertise upcoming events/seminars or workshops. Counselling Directory cannot and will not be held responsible for any false information. It is up to respective owners of the advert to inform Counselling Directory of any changes, and up to users of www.counselling-directory.org.uk to verify with counsellors that the information is correct.

All content displayed on Counselling Directory is provided for general information only, and should not be treated as a substitute for the medical advice of your own doctor or any other health care professional. Counselling Directory is not responsible or liable for any diagnosis made by a user based on the content of the website.

Counselling Directory and/or its directors shall have no liability at all for direct or indirect, special or consequential damages, relating in any way to the information provided. For counsellors advertising on Counselling Directory:

When submitting a profile on Counselling Directory, you are agreeing for all the information given to be made publicly available (with the strict exception of your payment details).

What information will you need to give?

Address Details
• Name, town / city, county, first half of postcode.

Contact Details
• Telephone number, email address

Counselling Information
• About you, training, qualifications and experience, areas of counselling you deal with, proof of professionalism

Credit/Debit Card Details
• Card number, cardholder name and the expiry date, (start date and issue number if paying by debit card)

Why is this information required?

Your address details are required to ensure the ‘search’ on our directory works correctly and those searching for a counsellor can find a counsellor in their own region. We understand that some individuals will not want their full address displayed on the Internet and for this reason the only mandatory address fields are as follows:

• Town / City
• County
• First half of postcode

Your email address and telephone number are both required so that we can contact you regarding any queries and let you know that your profile has been approved, or if your application failed. These details are also required to enable those searching on our website to contact you.

Other mandatory information includes a paragraph about you, your training and qualifications and areas of counselling you deal with. The purpose of our site is to provide those searching for a counsellor with information about you before having to contact you, which is why the information has been made mandatory. Each counsellor can choose how much or how little of the ‘Counselling Information’ they decide to give.

We need proof of your professionalism before your application is successful, which can be either proof of registration with a recognised body or proof of qualifications and insurance cover. These details are stored confidentially by us and will never be passed onto any third party.

Your name and credit/debit card details are used to take the agreed payment for your listing out of your account.

How are your card details protected?

A secure server is used to protect all your information. When you enter your payment details onto our website the locked padlock symbol in the bottom right hand corner is displayed, which means our site is secure and you can safely send private information through our site. We use Barclaycard Business for our card processing facilities, who are located in the UK. As we are a UK based website we only accept GBP (£) when processing your details.

Cancellation, Refund and Delivery Policy

Cancellation Policy

If you are paying monthly and wish to cancel your advert on Counselling Directory we will need written confirmation (by post or email) and you must give 30 days notice. If a payment was due to be taken within those 30 days this will still go ahead.

If you are paying yearly and wish to cancel your advert on Counselling Directory we will need written confirmation (by post or email) and you must give 30 days notice. If a payment was due to be taken within those 30 days for the following year this will still go ahead. You may cancel your advert at any time during the year but we will not reimburse you for any payment already taken.

If in the future you decide you wish to advertise with us again, please send us written confirmation (again by post or email) and we will set this up as soon as we can.

Refund Policy

We do not offer any refund policies; you may cancel your advert as described above, but we will not reimburse you for any payment already taken. If you decide to pay a yearly subscription fee, we do not offer a refund for any time the advert does not show on our website due to a cancellation. If you are paying a monthly charge, you may cancel your advert by giving us 30 days notice but we will not refund any payment already taken.

Delivery Policy

We will not take any payment from your card until your advert is listed on Counselling Directory. Payment will begin from the first day your listing is visible. If your application fails (due to qualifications, insurance or registration with a professional body not being provided) we will not charge your card.
